Sweeney Todd -thick ver by Zivrezcara Sweeney Todd -thick ver by Zivrezcara
First of all... I know you're supposed to be 18 (which is only a few months away) but I still have permission from my mom to enter, and if I remember correctly that's good enough. ^_~

Secondly how could I pass up a poster contest :D
I love making posters.. the one I made for last year's x-mas concert is still hanging up in my school's library.

And now for the tech info... or whatever you'd like to call it:

1.) I typed all the info on the bottom by hand while squinting at some low quality image I found on the net.. so I did all of this poster myself thank you

2.) I tried my best at replicating the "Sweeney Todd" logo and did not rip it off of anybody. I think it looks pretty good, considering I didn't hear about this contest till a couple days ago and I couldn't perfectly replicate it in that time with Pre-Calc tests >.<

3.) Using one of the images in the resource pack as a guide, I created a vector of Depp's head and added the base to make it look like a bust statue and then added the detail of the colored hair (which is white in the movie but i wanted the bust to be white therefor it is a negative/reverse image in that respect)

Lastly, I've created another version which simply has a different background which can be found here: [link]

This is the best one I've seen, in my opinion. It's different. It's new. It's outside the box. I love it.
I looked at the other version, and I like this one better.

:] Love the Sweeney.

Great work; can't wait to watch the movie. And I think I prefer this version.

A few people have said that lol ^_^ But I had to upload both because I couldn't make up my mind. I did some research about it and it's very morbid.. but what can you expect for Burton. Though I don't like NMB X-mas *dodges bullets from fans* I think this might be good... then again I like musicals *my fav is the King and I and I saw a production of Anything Goes which was amazing :D

You're right, even his first movie was morbid... Frankenweenie I mean :D

I can't see how anybody couldn't like Nightmare Before Christmas... but technically it's only BASED on Burton's work (directed by Henry Selick, who also did the Giant Peach), so it's not too bad. I could forgive you if you like Edward Scissorhands or some such :D

And I still can't believe Johnny Depp actually SINGS :O

I mean.. N.B.C. is very impressive just for the amount of time put into it... but I just never have liked claymation, just not my thing ^_^'

I wonder how he will be at it.. it could be dreadful O.O

Well, generally I'd agree with you... not my thing either. But I recognize the impact Harryhausen had on Burton, and I think Burton takes it to another level. For instance, I never watched Wallace & Gromit, even though they're probably worth watching, but I'm simply not interested. But personally, I think it's great Burton managed to put stop-motion animation in so many of his films... most noticeably in Beetlejuice. I think it's a shame he was forced to use CG in Mars Attacks... and the CG had to mimic stop-motion, which I thought is ridiculous... it's like shooting Angelina Jolie and replacing her with CG.

... wait, they did exactly that in Beowulf. See how some people have no good taste whatsoever nowadays? :D

This is great! Especially since it was done on such short notice! You obviously have a talent for posters/advertising. I hope the judges also acknowledge this! Good luck in the contest! ( btw~>Happy 18th birthday in a few months XD )

Good luck to you too! *took a look in your gallery*
I must say the style you used is very original, what did you use? I'm guessing paints and a brush or painting with a tablet.
